UMBC Summer Day Camp has been built and grown over 48 years as a summer program that emphasizes having fun in a positive, well structured, and exciting environment. The camp curriculum is created to offer a wide variety of programs to meet the interests, abilities, and needs of campers, with each camper’s day filled with a variety of age-appropriate activities. Weekly programs may include twice daily swimming, with instructional swim in the morning and free swim in the afternoon, and activities are described as fresh, interactive, and led by enthusiastic, energetic, and fun staff. The camp is operated by the UMBC Department of Athletics and Recreation and is licensed by the Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. It offers outstanding camp experiences for children within the greater Baltimore region and is designed to provide a safe environment for campers, families, and staff during summer 2026. Registration for Summer 2026 is scheduled to open March 3rd, 2026 at 12 p.m.

Parent and guardian feedback from the greater Baltimore region notes that children enjoy the activities, friends, and twice daily swimming, and that staff are described as nice, organized, and effective at helping families feel at ease. Families also highlight the indoor facilities as a way to keep children out of the heat and sun while still having ample room for activities, and some report recommending the camp to others who are looking for summer camps.
