Locust Grove Nature Center Programs include environmental interpretation and education programs for all ages. Families can take part in Native Plant Education, Nature on Wheels traveling programs, campfire nature walks, special events, and self-guided activities in the park. Participants can wander trails, enjoy the observation deck, and explore exhibits indoors and out, and they can also rent a Campfire Ring, attend Full Moon Fridays, join the Nature Book Club: Cozy Nature Book Chat, or take part in Birding: Great Backyard Bird Count.
• Schedule: Outdoor park areas and trails are open daily from sunrise to sunset, and the Nature Center Building and Nature Exploration Area are open 10am to 4pm on a seasonal schedule (weekends only in December–January and June–August, and Wednesday to Sunday in February–May and September–November).
• Price: The Campfire Ring is available to rent 7 days a week for 3 hours with a permit, and a Fee Reduction Program award is only open to MoCo residents.
Montgomery Parks encourages and supports the participation of individuals with disabilities. During inclement weather, visitors are directed to check the Montgomery Parks Weather Alerts page and the Nature Center's Facebook page for more information. Locust Grove Nature Center’s Fee Reduction Program award is only open to MoCo residents.
