Over 5,000 PPA families from more than 200 schools in and around DC and Montgomery County, MD take part in these programs each year, and PPA has served over 10,000 players in the last 10 years. The stated mission is “to develop players between the lines, and outside them,” and PPALife is described as the club’s culture, mantra, and mission. PPA promotes a philosophy and platform that supports kids playing multiple sports and offers both pro and parent coach options, as well as sports camps with what it describes as real coaches. PPA reports that it hangs its hat on having the best coaches in the region, is highly reviewed by parents across programming, and lists quality and player experience as a priority.
PPA provides scholarships for all programs, and its sponsors help everyone in the community get a chance to play. Its sister company, Open Door Sports, provides free high quality sports programs for thousands of kids with special needs. PPA is partnered with leading national sports brands and DC’s local professional sports teams, and it has an app available for mobile use. The organization has won 7 Maryland State championships in the last 5 years, sends soccer and hoops teams to the national stage, has inked a partnership with the Washington Spirit to position itself as a leader in girls soccer, and its Premier Soccer program has joined the GA Aspire League for elite competition and college pathways.
