Maryland SoccerPlex & SAM Soccer Youth Programs take place at a facility that includes 24 professionally maintained fields and the Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse, which measures 66,000 square feet. The fieldhouse has a polyurethane floor that was resurfaced and equipped with LED lighting in 2020.
• Schedule: Summer facility hours run Monday–Sunday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with drop-in play offered after camp Monday–Friday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
The Maryland SoccerPlex & SAM Soccer Youth Programs are run by the Maryland Soccer Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Maryland Soccer Foundation funds the operation of the Maryland SoccerPlex, Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse, and SAM Soccer, and organizes or hosts events that create economic impact for the community through sports tourism. The leadership team includes Gary Burke as SAM Select Manager, Gary Wheeler as SAM Recreational Manager, Micah Livsey as Marketing Manager, and Krista Brick as Sponsorship Manager. The complex was approved for construction on January 21, 1999, opened for play in October 2000 with 19 irrigated fields and the 48,000 square foot Discovery Sports Center (now the Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse), added 3 lighted synthetic turf fields in 2008, and completed its 24-field build-out in 2016 with the addition of fields 1 and 2. The facility is described in its history as the largest premier recreational facility in the Washington Capitol Region and includes 12 fields equipped with advanced drainage, with the remaining 9 grass fields scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022, which decreases the need to cancel or delay events due to inclement weather.
