A daily snack is provided, all surfaces are cleaned before and after snack, and all students wash hands prior to eating, and students are welcome to bring their own nut-free snacks from home if they prefer. AlphaBEST follows all school closures and delays, tuition is based on the number of school days in the academic calendar year without billing for holidays and other planned school days off, and the total tuition for the academic year is divided into equal weekly or monthly payments.

AlphaBEST Education has been providing before and after school programs since 2005 and currently serves approximately 30,000 students in 17 states. The organization is a family-owned business and follows all procedures and regulations related to a licensed child care program, including all staff passing numerous fingerprinted background checks. Staff are described as experienced, caring, and licensed, with training in first aid including CPR, airborne illnesses, and epi-pen administration, and one staff member reports 18 years of Red Cross certification in First Aid/CPR and AED instruction. Staff receive special training to support children with special needs in meaningful enrichment activities, and AlphaBEST uses a tiered system of supports called Creating Connected Communities. The program states that child care subsidy programs can assist families in paying for after school programs like this one.

The stated mission of AlphaBEST is to believe in the power of wonder, encouraging children to use their imagination as the program expands their horizons. Parent and school testimonials report that activities are structured, fun, and educational, that children are active and learning in areas such as foreign languages, sports, LEGO robotics, and creative arts, and that students often do not want to leave at pickup. School and district leaders describe AlphaBEST as providing purposeful and meaningful activities in a secure environment, using a 21st-century, hands-on curriculum, and offering an expanded learning curriculum that supports school improvement goals. One principal who is also an AlphaBEST parent states that they would recommend the program to anyone who asks.
