• Ages: 3–18 years old
The staff is described as very knowledgeable and well trained in Taekwondo and Jiu Jitsu, with leadership from Master Tommy and Master Erik. This Certified Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Training Center offers a limited time and availability free trial program for new members only, with class sizes that are limited and instructions for existing members to use the Members Section instead of the free trial form. During the Coronavirus period, students have had the ability to virtually attend weekly classes, including extra Black Belt candidate classes on Saturdays, and access to a Life Lessons Blog that is used to share useful knowledge and principles.
Parents and students describe first class instruction, helpful instructors, and senior classmates. One 11-year-old student reports starting martial arts at age 4, enjoying training with friends, meeting new people, and being on the AAU Competition Team. Several parents describe instructors who are engaging, firm but kind, and dedicated to helping each child develop and grow, with one family noting that their daughter started at age 3 and later earned her Black Belt and competed with her parents on ECMA’s AAU Taekwondo Competition Team. Multiple families mention that their children love attending classes, feel motivated, and enjoy the workouts, and adult students describe enthusiastic and motivational instruction, varied workouts, and being pushed at their own level. One long-term student notes that black belts are not handed out easily and that there are many rungs on the ladder toward black belt, with instructors who are positive and encouraging for both kids and adults. Another reviewer highlights that the facilities include two training floors divided into three areas that allow three different classes to run at the same time, regularly cleaned bathrooms, and a seating area for spectators to watch.
