• Schedule: Edgewood programs and services are available Monday–Thursday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM, and Aberdeen programs and services are available Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM.

At The EPICENTER, the stated mission is to empower people, strengthen families, and build a sense of community and trust. Mountain Christian Church made an intentional investment in the Edgewood community in 2004 and, in 2013, worked with local partners and church members to launch a community center in Edgewood. The EPICENTER partnered with Mountain Christian Church to create a space for the community of Aberdeen and later merged with Tabitha’s House, a nonprofit thrift store in Fallston with 25 years of history, as a strategic way to expand impact. The EPICENTER and Mountain Christian Church are described as two separate entities that partner together, and the facility hosts Sunday morning worship services and group meetings and events for children, students, and adults. The EPICENTER also hosts blood drives and food giveaways and distributes food through food pantries and monthly giveaways.

One parent, Britny Jennings, states, “I love that they hold job fairs, as well as after school activities! It’s great for the community.” Another community member, Cheryl Worthington, describes Edgewood as a strong and diverse community that faces issues such as homelessness, poverty, unemployment, and career issues, while also being home to caring people who show love and commitment to the community.
