The Playroom offers drop-in play in a STEAM Center where children can explore an indoor playset, ball pits, climbing structures, and ride-ons. Children can build with life-size foam blocks, design on magnetic maze and gear walls, use a LEGO table, race cars on a race track, and drive Thomas the Tank Engine around a giant train table. The space also includes a puppet theater, a giant train table, and activities such as StoryPlay, Pre-School Prep, Princess Adventure, Sensory Play, and STEM/STEAM.

The Playroom is a 5,500 square foot STEAM play space designed for children to explore, create, and discover and is described as Harford County’s one-of-a-kind exploration room and Harford County's Drop-In Play for Kids. The Playroom runs on kid power, and adults are required to stay with their children and play together. Families are reminded not to forget their socks.
The Playroom seeks to provide a nurturing environment where children can create, explore, and discover. Ms. Keri is the owner, operator, and StoryPlay teacher at The Playroom, with a BA in Adaptive Physical Education and an MS in Early Childhood Special Education. She created StoryPlay for preschoolers and began teaching through Harford County’s Parks & Recreation program. The Playroom has been in operation from 2016–2026 as The Playroom, LLC.
One parent shared that her daughter looks forward to her Princess Dance class all week and enjoys learning to move to the beat, follow directions, and learn basic dance positions and terminology. Another parent described The Playroom as a safe, clean, and educational environment for her very active two-year-old and appreciated that the nominal fee is for all day play.
