Programs are run by licensed and qualified staff under the direction of child care expert Jose Ramirez, with college and post-college age counselors who have prior experience working with school-aged children, undergo background checks, and preferably have an education-related college degree. The leadership team includes owners Jose and Stacy Ramirez, Camp Director Sean Watts, Assistant Directors Adam Seidman, Magdalena Watts, and Marlee Slaughter, and Teens Director Bridgette Goyne. Jose Ramirez has been serving families in his community since 1995, worked for over 31 years with a leading children’s after school program in Montgomery County, Maryland, and started Outrageous Camp with Stacy in 2007; the camp is now in its 19th year. Outrageous Camp’s mission is to provide safe, affordable, and creative programming for school age children to create lasting summer memories.

Parents are asked to send each child with a swimsuit, towel, nut-free lunch, sunscreen, and a water bottle every day, with the child’s name on each item, and campers are expected to wear comfortable, casual summer clothing and sneakers. Outrageous Teens and Excursions participants bring a bag lunch that does not require refrigeration, while Minis, Middies, and Varsity bring lunches that are stored in an air-conditioned room if packed in a paper or thermal bag. Tuition for Day Camp covers special treats, field trips, t-shirts, transportation, and all camp activities, and a popsicle break occurs each afternoon during announcements. One prerequisite for Excursion Weeks is at least one additional week of camp experience at Outrageous Camp.

Parent and camper testimonials describe Outrageous Camp as having “awesome activities and trips,” “wonderful staff,” “activities-galore,” “parties and games,” “many excursions,” and “plenty of outdoor activities” including swimming, field trips, games, and time to make new friends, with one camper stating a hope to return as a counselor in training and another parent noting that their child has attended all summer, every summer, for three summers.
