Programs are run by licensed, qualified staff, including college and post-college age counselors who are required to have prior experience working with school-aged children, undergo background checks, and preferably have an education-related college degree. Camp counselors are college-aged and high school men and women who are trained and described as energetic and passionate about working with children. The ratio of children to staff is 10:1.

The leadership team includes Jose Ramirez (Owner), Stacy Ramirez (Owner), Sean Watts (Camp Director), Adam Seidman (Assistant Director), Magdalena Watts (Assistant Director), Marlee Slaughter (Assistant Director), and Bridgette Goyne (Teens Director). Jose Ramirez has been serving families in his community since 1995, worked for over 31 years with a leading children’s after school program in Montgomery County, Maryland, and started Outrageous Camp in 2007; in its 19th year, he continues to carry out the camp’s mission. Outrageous Camp’s mission is to provide safe, affordable and creative programming for school age children to create lasting summer memories.

Tuition for Day Camp covers special treats, field trips, t-shirts, transportation, and all camp activities. Daily excursions and teen events are offered, and excursion weeks feature daily field trips for entering 1st–5th grade, with a prerequisite of an additional week of camp experience at Outrageous Camp. A popsicle break occurs each afternoon during announcements.

Families are asked to send each child with a swimsuit, towel, nut-free lunch, sunscreen, and water bottle every day, with the child’s name on each item, and campers are expected to wear comfortable, casual summer clothing including sneakers. Campers can wear bathing suits under their clothes if comfortable. Outrageous Teens and Excursions participants bring a bag lunch that does not require refrigeration, and water is provided throughout the day. Minis, Middies, and Varsity bring a lunch each day that will be stored in an air-conditioned room if brought in a paper or thermal bag.

Parent and camper testimonials describe learning social skills and manners, enjoying activities, trips, parties, games, excursions, swimming, field trips, and making new friends, and they describe staff as wonderful, great, kind, cool, organized, and caring. Multiple testimonials state that children are excited to attend, check the camp calendar for themes, and come home tired, wet, dirty, and happy, and several parents express strong recommendations and appreciation for Jose, the counselors, and the rest of the staff.
