KidsCo Inc. Before & After School Care and Summer Camps was incorporated in 1998 and began as one summer camp program. By 2000, the organization had one before and after school program, and by the time of writing it operated 19 elementary school before and after school programs in Montgomery County. In 2006, KidsCo’s sister company KidsCo Jr. was created to serve the infant, toddler, and preschool child care market, and in the summer of 2014, six day camps and two travel camps operated across the county.
KidsCo states that its mission is to provide a safe and comfortable place where children are allowed to explore their creativity and make choices, and to create a program that fits the needs and desires of the children who participate. The organization describes itself as “the Kids’ Company” and emphasizes a loving, stimulating, and engaging environment where kids work together with highly qualified staff. KidsCo staff members receive specialized training and are rewarded for their work, and the organization reports having a large and qualified core management team and an exceptional group of program Directors. Jay Gerson started KidsCo and remains active in the day-to-day happenings of all KidsCo programs.
KidsCo reports making a difference in over 1000 families’ lives each year in Montgomery County and notes that its summer camp programs have operated across the county. KidsCo Jr. extends KidsCo’s standards into the infant, toddler, and preschool child care market, and KidsCo offers year-round Early Learning Centers for ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.
