About

Bar-T Summer Camps & School Year Programs offers summer day camps, school year programs, and before- and after-school childcare, along with outdoor education, corporate team building, and events. The program includes a Junior Leader in Training (JLIT) program as the first step in the Bar-T Summer Counselor Training Program and a Leader in Training (LIT) program that focuses on growing leadership skills while supporting campers and counselors. JLIT participants receive training on summer camp childcare, camp functions, proper childcare interactions, staff relations, team building, and other on-the-job training skills, and Bar-T bus transportation is available for JLITs to both Mountainside and Ranch.

• Ages: 5–17 years old
• Schedule: Kids Club before- and after-school programs run September through June with morning options around 7:00am–9:30am and afternoon options around 3:00pm–6:30pm on weekdays; JLIT and LIT programs run weekdays 8:30am–3:30pm in the summer, with JLITs committing to at least four weeks between June and August and required training dates in late May and early June.
• Price: JLIT 2025 Summer Fee is $1,000.00 regardless of the number of weeks attended; LITs receive $100 per week.

Applicants for JLIT must be 14 years old by June 5th, applicants for LIT must have completed one full summer in the JLIT program and be 15 years old by June 5th, and Junior Counselor applicants must be 16 years old. School-Age Teachers (SAT) and Directors & Assistant Directors must be at least 19 years old and meet specific coursework and childcare experience requirements, and Director and Assistant Director positions are benefit-eligible with healthcare, vision, dental, and an employee assistance program. Bar-T uses substitutes when full-time employees are unable to work, assigns substitute roles on an as-needed basis, and has substitutes complete 1–2 weeks of training at a Bar-T training center before substituting, with hiring from the substitute list first depending on program needs and availability. A Director Career Track is available with a transparent salary band and growth opportunities.
