Washington County Parks & Recreation Programs include access to ball fields, gymnasiums, pavilions, a pool, and sports rentals. The program also offers fitness classes, recreation programs, and both youth and adult programs. Tennis court resurfacing and maintenance projects are part of the ongoing activities that support these programs.

Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation maintains several different parks and establishes a public park system with diverse and accessible recreation areas. The vision of Washington County Government is to become the regional leader in providing and coordinating efficient and effective public services in an open and cooperative manner. Washington County contains 3 National Parks, 7 State Parks, 14 County Parks, numerous City and Town Parks, and 24 graceful stone arch bridges built between 1819 and 1863. Washington County was established in 1776. Local residents are encouraged to complete a short survey to help inform the future development of parks and recreation, and Washington County plans to host the 2026 Emergency Preparedness Expo on October 10. The leadership team connected to the Department of Business and Economic Development includes Director Jonathan Horowitz, Business Leader Machelle Dwyer, Financial Programs Administrator and Data Analyst Linda Spence, Business Specialist Agriculture Kelsey Keadle, Business Support Specialist Carmen Harbaugh, Business Development Support Specialist - Retention & Expansion Angela Detrick, and Office Manager Tonia Davis.
