River Valley Ranch Summer Camps offers activities such as horseback riding, paintball, a 1500' triple Zip Line, and a High Ropes Course. The Horse Center at River Valley Ranch includes approximately 50 horses and offers trail rides, private riding lessons, group riding lessons, weekly riding clubs, and private group trail rides. The camp serves over 10,000 youth and adults annually.
River Valley Ranch Summer Camps is part of River Valley Ranch, which started in 1952 as a cowboy summer camp for youth. River Valley Ranch is a non-profit ministry and a registered 501 (c)3 non-profit religious organization, and it is a part of Peter & John Ministries, Inc. It is a non-denominational Christian camp with a distinctly Christian and wholesome atmosphere for the whole family and offers exceptional Christian Maryland summer camps, challenging outdoor experiences, quality retreat facilities, corporate events, and memorable family experiences. Its mission statement is that River Valley Ranch cultivates a wholesome environment where guests and staff may grow towards their full, God given potential.
River Valley Ranch serves regional public and private schools through outdoor education programs and welcomes groups such as schools, non-profits, businesses, and charities for retreats and outdoor education, as long as their activities do not conflict with River Valley Ranch's Statement of Faith and values. The outdoor education program is designed to teach through personal discovery. River Valley Ranch employs certified medical personnel, certified lifeguards, certified ropes and climbing instructors, certified horsemen, and well-trained and dedicated counselors. The facility offers carefully prepared food and clean accommodations approved by the State and County Health and Fire Departments.
