River Valley Ranch Summer Camps offers activities such as horseback riding, paintball, a 1500' triple Zip Line, and a High Ropes Course. The program also includes trail rides, private and group riding lessons, weekly riding clubs, and private group trail rides. River Valley Ranch Summer Camps operates as a summer youth camp, retreat facility, outdoor education, and horseback riding center.
River Valley Ranch Summer Camps began in 1952 as a cowboy summer camp for youth. The program’s mission is that River Valley Ranch cultivates a wholesome environment where guests and staff may grow towards their full, God given potential. Staff at River Valley Ranch include certified medical personnel, certified lifeguards, certified ropes and climbing instructors, certified horsemen, and well-trained and dedicated counselors. River Valley Ranch is a non-profit ministry and is part of Peter & John Ministries, Inc., a registered non-profit religious organization. It is a non-denominational Christian camp with a distinctly Christian and wholesome atmosphere for the whole family and offers exceptional Christian Maryland summer camps, challenging outdoor experiences, quality retreat facilities, corporate events, and memorable family experiences. The Horse Center at River Valley Ranch cares for approximately 50 horses year round and serves the local equestrian community year round with training and enriching activity. River Valley Ranch also offers an Outdoor Education Program designed to teach leadership skills, overcoming obstacles, and valuing creation, with curriculum designed to teach through personal discovery with the goal of increasing awareness and retention, as well as Winter Meltdown programmed retreats held during the months of January through March.
