Joe’s Movement Emporium Youth Programs (Camp Joe’s & Club Joe’s) offer arts-based youth programs that include dance, performing arts, dance instruction, and movement classes. Youth in Camp Joe’s and Club Joe’s take part in activities that build team building, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills while sharpening fine motor and cognitive abilities in an arts-based learning environment. Camp Joe’s is a spring break and summer extended learning program, and Club Joe’s is an after school arts program. Camp Joe’s and Club Joe’s are out-of-school time programs that engage youth throughout the year. Local families in need of affordable, quality childcare can find it at Club Joe’s and Camp Joe’s.
Joe’s Movement Emporium operates as a cultural arts hub that acts as a catalyst for creativity and economic opportunity and serves more than 70,000 visitors annually. Joe’s has five arts-based youth programs that bridge the creative divide between under-resourced families and those with means. Many resident artists and arts companies use Joe’s as a home base where they create, rehearse, and perform, and Joe’s produces over 150 public events per year. The facility is open 7 days a week, 350 days per year with daily movement classes for all levels of movers.
World Arts Focus was founded in 1992 by Brooke Kidd, and Joe’s Movement Emporium began as a studio for dance and the performing arts when Brooke Kidd and Ajax Joe Drayton opened it in 1995. The organization’s mission is to inspire creativity through cultural experiences supporting arts education, job training, and a creative community. World Arts Focus Inc.
