About
Good Counsel Summer Camps offers activities such as arts & crafts, games, movies, and recreational play in the gym. Campers in After Care may choose among these activities during the afternoon.
• Schedule: Campers are allowed to report to camp beginning at 8:30 a.m., and After Care is available daily from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
• Price: A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required for all camps at registration. The cost per camper for After Care is $100 per week, and the cost per camper for the lunch plan is $55 per week. Concessions are available daily for cash only, with sports drinks for $3.00, bottled water for $1.00, regular size candy for $1.75, share size candy for $2.75, chips for $2.75, and ice cream for $2.00.
Campers may bring a lunch from home or purchase a weekly lunch plan, and any lunch brought from home should not need to be refrigerated or heated. The daily lunch menu includes a main entrée, chips, a 16.9 oz bottle of water, and a treat, and all campers are asked to bring a full water bottle labeled with their name each day. Registrations are processed on a first come, first serve basis, and an online application is required for each camper and is available on the individual camp web pages. Good Counsel Summer Camps will be open on June 19th, and there is no pro-rated pricing for campers who are absent.
In the case of inclement weather, camp is moved indoors, and if there are extended periods of rain or severe weather, camp may close early or be canceled. Parents or guardians are contacted by email if camp closes early, and campers are allowed to contact their parents or guardians by phone in that situation. The camp follows strict attention to the heat index, brings campers indoors if it is too hot, provides shaded areas, and takes frequent water breaks. Camp directors and counselors are aware of illness related to heat and seek immediate medical attention if a camper shows symptoms.
Campers are met by counselors and escorted to their camp activities in the morning. Specific drop-off and pick-up locations and instructions are emailed to families before the child’s week of camp. An immunization record must be submitted for any student who attends a school outside the state of Maryland.
