The Milford Mill Church Child Development Center was organized in 1953 as a ministry of Milford Mill United Methodist Church and is a ministry of that church. The center states a vision to offer children and their families a place where they may grow in a socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually secure and loving atmosphere. The program is accredited with the Maryland State Department of Education and has achieved Maryland Excels Level 5 status and is currently up for reaccreditation. The center reports that its teachers bring decades of experience and passion to their classrooms and that all classrooms feature engaging activities in math, science, language arts, geography, music, and fine arts. The program offers full-time and part-time options, including half days, full days, and 2, 3, 4, and 5 days a week, plus early and extended care, and includes programs for 2-, 3-, and 4-year-olds as well as kindergarten. The center describes its play-based learning and themed learning approaches as incorporating play-based activities, and notes that it values small class sizes, flexible scheduling, and personal relationships with every student and their family. The Milford Mill Church Child Development Center states that it is for all children of appropriate ages regardless of racial, religious, or ethnic backgrounds and that it does not discriminate against any family or staff. The school notes that students engage in community oriented projects and that families can stay updated on dates, events, and lunch menus through a monthly center page newsletter.
