About
The U.S. Dream Academy Afterschool & Mentoring Program includes one-on-one mentoring, tutoring, hands-on STEM activities, exciting field trips, and cloud-based, tailored literacy support. The program also offers academic support, dream building activities, and leadership opportunities. U.S. Dream Academy offers a safe place to go every day after school, along with a safe, secure online platform for young people and mentors to maintain connection.

The U.S. Dream Academy Afterschool & Mentoring Program is led by the U.S. Dream Academy's founder and CEO, Wintley Phipps. Since 1998, the program has served over 11,000 DreamKids across ten cities nationwide. U.S. Dream Academy Learning Centers are located in under-invested neighborhoods where young people are growing up amidst high rates of poverty and often higher than average rates of crime in their communities. Many Learning Centers have been established through significant partnerships. The organization describes its mission as empowering children impacted by parental incarceration to believe in themselves and to succeed through academic, social, and values enrichment. Its programs are described as innovative out of school time and mentoring programs, with excellence built on three thematic pillars: Skill-building, Character-building, and Dream-building. The organization currently operates Learning Centers in seven communities, called Dream Cities, nationwide and is now offering a Virtual Village. Its programs are described as research-based programs that challenge young people and engage them in active learning, with a focus on children impacted by parental incarceration. U.S. Dream Academy is a 501(c)3 registered nonprofit organization.
