The U.S. Dream Academy Afterschool & Mentoring Program includes one-on-one mentoring, tutoring, hands-on STEM activities, and exciting field trips. The program also offers cloud-based, tailored literacy support, academic support, dream building activities, and leadership opportunities. U.S. Dream Academy offers a safe place to go every day after school.

The U.S. Dream Academy Afterschool & Mentoring Program is led by founder and CEO Wintley Phipps. Since 1998, the program has served over 11,000 DreamKids across ten cities nationwide. Its mission is: “Through academic, social, and values enrichment, we empower children impacted by parental incarceration to believe in themselves and to succeed.” U.S. Dream Academy currently operates Learning Centers in seven communities called Dream Cities and also offers a Virtual Village. Dream Cities (Learning Centers) are located in Baltimore, MD; Houston - Foster, TX; Houston - Hartsfield, TX; Orlando, FL; Philadelphia, PA; Salt Lake City, UT; San Bernardino, CA; and Washington, D.C. The program offers innovative out of school time and mentoring programs with excellence built on three thematic pillars: Skill-building, Character-building, and Dream-building. Its research-based programs include a Virtual Village online platform for young people and mentors to maintain connection, using a safe, secure online platform for mentors to connect with their mentee from anywhere in the world. The program focuses on children impacted by parental incarceration.
