City of Westminster Summer Camp takes place within the City of Westminster’s Recreation and Parks system and is connected to a full-service health and wellness center that includes selectorized and free weight equipment, a cardiovascular center, group fitness classes, child supervision, game rooms, locker rooms, a gym, and space for classes. The camp is also connected to use of the Westminster Municipal Pool, which has a main pool with a water slide, a lap and learning pool, a splash pad and lagoon, family restrooms, and a rentable community room. The program is described as offering weekly summer camp experiences in which each day is structured to spark imagination, support new friendships, and help children discover new talents.

The City of Westminster Summer Camp operates within a department whose mission is to provide citizens with safe and enjoyable activities, events, and park services, and to organize and promote a variety of recreational activities and events that encourage family interaction and personal enjoyment. The broader Recreation and Parks system that supports the camp includes 14 parks totaling 50 miles, with nine parks that have play equipment for pre-K and school-age children. Other park resources available in the city include four multi-purpose fields, four basketball courts, seven tennis courts, climbing boulders, six pavilions, two plazas, a skate park, and a walking trail of about two miles from Uniontown Road to Long Valley Road. The department also provides events that draw thousands of people to Downtown Westminster each year, including Celtic Canter, the Wine Stroll, and Fallfest, and it partners with community organizations to promote the health and well-being of local citizens. The Volunteer Incentive Program connected to the department has been relaunched with a portal that allows an easy process for tracking volunteer hours.
