About
Family Swim Lessons includes swim lessons that cover arm movements, leg movements, and breath control. The class uses songs, skills based activities, fun activities, and games as part of the time in the water. One adult is planned to be in the water with each child to give as much space as possible in the pool.
• Ages: 9 months–5 years old
• Schedule: Tuesdays at 9:00–9:30 AM, from 06/23/2026 to 08/04/2026
• Price: $70.00 Res, $80.00 Non-Res
In this playful networking class, parents and children learn together to increase the child's comfort in the water and build a foundation of basic skills. Parents and children work on arm and leg movements and breath control, and the class introduces water safety concepts and encourages a healthy recreational habit that the entire family can enjoy. Younger babies focus on water introduction with songs and skills based activities focused on acclimating younger children to swim lessons, being safe in the water, and enjoying it, and babies must be able to sit up on their own and hold their heads up easily to gain the most benefit from this class. Older toddlers focus on swim skills, safety components in and around the water, and fun activities, songs, and games that can be translated to practicing at home, in pools, or in open water. Classes are for parents or caregivers and their 9-month- to 3-year-old children by the start of the program, and accommodations have been made for children up to 5 years old in this class under certain circumstances. Please plan to have just one adult in the water with each child. If unable to register or get into the desired class time, participants are instructed to call the Community Center and ask to be placed on a Waiting List. There are 15 seats available for the listed session, and Summer Pool Program Registration opens June 8 for Residents and June 11 for Non-Residents at 7am.
