Ann Arbor Civic Theatre Youth & Junior Theatre Programs offers activities such as Youth Playwriting class, Spring Break Theatre Camp, a three week, 2-days a week theatre class, Stage Acting Basics class, and the Take Ten play writing class. The programs also include Junior Theatre, the A2CT Technical Theatre Troupe, and other unique workshops, classes, meet-ups, and an expanded education program for all ages. Some classes, such as Stage Acting Basics, have covered Voice & Projection, Movement, and basic Acting Skills using elements of the modern Meisner technique taught by Meisner DMT certified teacher Bruce Morey.

Ann Arbor Civic Theatre was founded in 1929, and its complete show history runs from 1929–2024, with over 600 productions put on by the community for the community. The organization states that it exists to provide opportunities for members of the community to participate in theatre and values and promotes creative excellence and personal artistic growth through performances, open invitation for participation in all aspects of production, and development of talent through educational, apprenticeship, and performance opportunities. For 95 years, Ann Arbor Civic Theatre has enriched the community with evocative work and learning opportunities and continues to offer programs such as Junior Theatre, A2CT Technical Theatre Troupe, and unique workshops and classes, supported in part by local partnerships and donors.

The programs operate under an open-door policy and welcome all members of the community to participate, with a focus on making theatre accessible and affordable, providing quality programming and artistic opportunities, educating the community through classes, meet-ups, and workshops, and maintaining a mission of “art for all.” Ann Arbor Civic Theatre is an IRS approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The organization also runs the A2CT Playwright, Actor, Director Laboratory and notes that there is a free parking lot adjacent to its building during daytime business hours in spots labeled Ann Arbor Civic Theatre, as well as specific parking arrangements at Arthur Miller Theatre and the Children’s Creative Center.
