About
The Broadway Intensive offers week-long summer camps for students passionate about musical theatre performance. Campers immerse themselves in scenes, music, and choreography centering a specific Broadway show, and they are grouped by age and rotate daily through music, scene work, and dance. Each week-long session ends with a group performance.

Since 2014, The Broadway Intensive has partnered with the Pioneer High School Theatre Guild to offer week-long summer camps. Summer 2026 camps study two shows: HADESTOWN and MAMMA MIA. Junior Camp is for rising 3rd–6th grades, and Teen Camp is for 7th–12th grades, with Teen Camp Session 1 and Session 3 listed as waitlist only. Session 1 Junior Camp runs June 15–19 from 9am–2pm, and Session 1 Teen Camp runs June 15–19 from 11am–4pm. Session 2 Junior Camp runs June 22–26 from 9am–2pm, and Session 3 Teen Camp runs June 22–26 from 11am–4pm.
The Broadway Intensive’s mission is to uphold a professional-level rehearsal ethic in which focus, curiosity, and inclusion are at the heart of the work. Every camper is given the opportunity to read many roles and sing many solos during the weeklong rehearsal process, and the program encourages exploration, risk-taking, and growth in a supportive environment. The program brings the excellence and rigor of U-M’s Musical Theatre training to campers, with University of Michigan Musical Theatre students serving as camp counselors and teaching assistants, providing mentorship, leadership, and hands-on support throughout the week. Co-founders Chelsea Packard and Geoff Packard are Broadway actors on the faculty at the University of Michigan; Chelsea teaches private voice in the Musical Theatre Department, and Geoff teaches acting, directing, and performance classes in the Theatre and Musical Theatre Departments.
