Since 1978, the Village has used martial arts as a tool for youth development. The site says its programs are for students ages 5 to 18 from the city of Detroit and beyond, and that the Village has expanded to include youth and adult sports and fitness, leadership training, visual and performing arts, homework assistance and tutoring, youth entrepreneurship training, and community service.
