SK Rhythmic Academy offers rhythmic gymnastics through recreational classes, a competitive rhythmic gymnastics team, and introductory, advanced, and recreational camps. Participants train in stretching, conditioning, routine choreography, and apparatus manipulation with hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon, and rope. The program also includes ballet, modern dance, tap, and ballroom instruction as part of its training.

SK Rhythmic Academy has been in business for over five years and describes itself as an elite rhythmic gymnastics club with dedicated coaches, a fun environment, and a focus on developing competitive-level talent. The academy offers a free tryout class and welcomes gymnasts from the Greater Detroit Metro Area, including Oakland, Wayne, and Macomb counties.
The leadership team includes Owner and Head Coach Sofiya Kulikovksa, along with coaches Oleksandra Kosenko, Olena Kolushkina, Nadiya Kolodiy, Annabelle Weathers, Iryna Sovach, Christina, Sasha, and Daria. Coach Sofiya has worked with all levels of athletes and trained gymnasts who have won state and regional competitions and competed at the national level, and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Oakland University. Coach Oleksandra was a rhythmic gymnast for fifteen years, has a Bachelor’s degree in Rhythmic Gymnastics Coaching from Kharkiv State University of Physical Education, has coached since 2017, led all competitive levels at Club Advanced in Poltava, and helped prepare level 6 and 7 gymnasts who won prizes and placed in the top 12 nationally. Coach Olena was an acrobatic gymnast for seven years, competed in duo and group events in Ukraine and Poland, began coaching in 2019, has taught fundamentals of gymnastics to children 3 years and older, and is studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Gymnastics Coaching. Coach Nadiya began ballroom dancing at a young age in Lviv, Ukraine, earned numerous awards and best dancer titles, holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from the Ivan Frank National University of Lviv, and worked as a math professor for 10 years. Coach Annabelle began ballet training at age nine at the Joffrey Ballet, attended the High School of Performing Arts majoring in dance/ballet with a minor in modern, performed yearly with the senior group and in ballet and modern solos, continued training with Joffrey and Elliot Feld in tap, four styles of modern, ballet, and ballroom, danced with several promotions groups and a ballroom company, and was a form coach at a gymnastics company for eight years. Coach Iryna Sovach is a former member of the Ukrainian National Team and a Master of Sport in rhythmic gymnastics, holds a degree in Physical Education and Rhythmic Gymnastics Coaching from Zaporozhye University in Ukraine, has over 20 years of experience, has worked with children ages 4 to 16, has served as a head coach and choreographer for individual and group gymnasts in Switzerland and Holland, and has been a national-level judge at numerous rhythmic gymnastics competitions.
The academy states the mission, “Join us on a journey to Excellence, Skills, And Grace! Join us at SK Rhythmic Academy, where we nurture the potential of every gymnast and celebrate the beauty of this extraordinary sport.” SK Rhythmic Academy notes that it has top placing gymnasts.
