UPDS Dance Studio

UPDS Dance Studio offers classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Technique, Tumbling, Lyrical, and Contemporary. The program also includes a Competition Company and requires competition dancers to take summer ballet and technique classes, as well as ballet and technique classes throughout the year. Competition dancers take class or classes to learn choreography for each competition routine they have qualified for through the audition process.

• Schedule: The Competition Company competes in 4 competitions between February and May, with auditions for the 2023–2024 Competition Company at the beginning of August, and registration starting May 1st.
• Price: Competition families are responsible for a tuition cost that goes toward time in the studio, and a separate competition fee that covers registration fees, costumes, shoes, and related costs.

UPDS Dance Studio states that all classes have age appropriate material and that classes are geared towards correct technical placement and taking dancers' skills to the next level. The studio describes its Competition Company as a group of talented dancers who are passionate and dedicated to dance and who travel to the Twin Cities and Des Moines for competitions. UPDS Dance Studio states that it prides itself on a family friendly atmosphere and a fun and safe environment where students can express themselves through dance, and that it strives to instill values and discipline while encouraging dancers to find their individual gifts and what they can achieve as a team.
