Andover Athletic Association offers girls volleyball, fall basketball, girls basketball, fall fastpitch softball, and fall slowpitch softball, along with the A-Town Showdown Fastpitch Tournament and the MN Selects Tournament. The 2026 Girls Volleyball Season is scheduled to start on August 24, and fall slowpitch softball play dates are scheduled for the four weeks of August.

The Andover Athletic Association uses fields for league practices, games, and tournaments, and home game fields are arranged in partnership with the City of Andover. The association partners with the City of Andover on all field maintenance concerns.
The Fastpitch Softball Director position oversees all operations of the Andover Athletic Association fastpitch program, represents the association at MN Fastpitch Softball Meetings, and serves as a member of the Andover Athletic Association Board. The Fastpitch Softball Director runs the spring and summer season, including team formation, coach selection, team registration, managing league issues, addressing association concerns, making decisions on cancelling home games, and managing all finances for the fastpitch program. A fastpitch committee meets monthly to establish the future path of the program. The mission for this role states that the Fastpitch Softball Director is responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and success of the fastpitch softball program and works with fellow board members to provide a positive, organized, and rewarding experience for participants while supporting the association’s mission and long-term growth.
The leadership team for fastpitch includes the President Andover Athletic Association–Fastpitch, Lance Otto; Apparel and Uniform Coordinator, Jessi Ivers; Volunteer Coordinator, Julie Linaman; Marketing and Special Events Director, Tammy Larson; At-Large Position, Karri Kangas; Field Scheduling and Umpire Coordinator, Jackie Sutherland; Tournament Director; and Fundraising Coordinator/Equipment Manager, Mel Ackerman. The Field Scheduling and Umpire Coordinator secures and schedules fields for all league practices, games, and tournaments and coordinates all umpires for spring and summer league games using local agencies. The Tournament Director is accountable for all activities related to running the A-Town Showdown Fastpitch Tournament and the MN Selects Tournament and partners with coaches on the tournament registration process during the spring and summer season. The Fundraising Coordinator/Equipment Manager helps raise money and other donations and works with board members and coaches to build relationships with donors and sponsors. All board members assist other board members as needed and take part in association events and meetings.
Andover Athletic Association offers a notification list for association-wide communications for families whose child has not yet participated in association activities. The association’s website is powered by SportsEngine’s Sports Relationship Management (SRM) software.
