Bloomington United Summer Camps are part of Bloomington United, a community-based competitive soccer club that offers programming for the “Balanced Competitor” who wants to play soccer competitively while still having the balance to participate in other sports and activities. Youth camps are designed for all skill ranges, from beginners to advanced players, and sessions include foundational technical skills taught and reinforced in game-like situations with an approach that focuses on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological/social-emotional aspects of the game. The full-day camp includes soccer in the morning with half-day campers, a lunch break and recess on the playground, then other activities in the afternoon including other sports, fun camp games, arts and crafts, and more. High School Prep Camp is engineered to give players a definitive competitive edge by bridging the gap between club technical refinement and the high-intensity demands of the high school and competitive tryout season, with a curriculum that focuses on the specific technical, tactical, and physical metrics that coaches and evaluators look for on Day 1. Sessions in the High School Prep Camp mimic a high-stakes tryout environment through a blend of high-repetition skill stations, fast-paced small-sided games, and full-field scrimmages, and include varsity-level conditioning and interval training with advanced tactical concepts such as pressing triggers and zonal defending.
Bloomington United offers a full slate of programs from beginners looking to play one season a year to experienced players interested in playing year-round. Kickers Soccer is an ideal program for young players ages 4–6 who might be new to the sport or who want to play, have fun, learn new skills, and meet new friends. The United Academy is for U7–U8 players who are looking for a pathway to the competitive program with more skills, game instruction, and commitment, and there are competitive teams for boys and girls ages 9 to 16 with two main seasons: fall and spring/summer plus winter training. Bloomington United provides guidance to families as they enter the club to help get players in the proper program based on their developmental stage and soccer interests.
Through a valued partnership with the City of Bloomington and Bloomington Public Schools, Bloomington United games and training sessions take place seasonally throughout the city. New Executive Director Ryan Heinritz joins Bloomington United, and all contents are copyrighted 2020 by Bloomington United.
