About
Brooklyn Park Summer Camp includes activities in science, nature exploration, art, games, clubs, active play, and themed activities each week. Campers take part in quiet games or playground time, Song Circle all-camp sing-alongs, Morning Meeting, snack times, specialist activity blocks in art, science, literacy, and nature, Big Game, Lunch Bunch, Literacy Exploration, Choice Time, Group Reflection, and Chill Out and Check Out. Big Game options include Trench, 4 corners, and Quidditch, and 5–6 year olds are usually offered an alternate activity if they prefer not to play.

• Schedule: Sample full-day schedule runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with structured activity blocks throughout the day
Brooklyn Park Summer Camp is for kids entering Kindergarten to 8th grade. Activities are led by summer camp staff as well as specialists in science, nature, and art. During Choice Time, there are 3–4 planned activities offered, and campers can self-select where they want to go each day.
The camp’s work is built around values of Community, Teamwork, Learning, Self-Reliance, Friendship, Grit, Adventure, Leadership, Zest for Life, and Gratitude. The leadership team includes Amber Rotramel, Youth and Preschool Programs Supervisor, and Brad Tullberg, Recreation and Parks Director. The mission statement notes that summer camps have a tremendous impact on young people, that time with caring adult staff allows campers to develop character strengths and social-emotional skills necessary for future success, and that the camp strives to bring out the best in every child by filling their days with meaningful experiences and fun.
