Summer Soccer Camp offers a Soccer Camp program that focuses on soccer activities on the soccer field. Each evening also includes nightly devotions as part of the camp schedule. All skill levels are welcome, and no special equipment is required, though children who have them are encouraged to bring shin guards and soccer cleats.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: For two weeks on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings in July
• Price: Minimal cost per child. Scholarships are available on request. Please pay what you can and make a note of the need on the registration form.
Soccer Camp meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, with ages 3–5 years meeting at 5:30 p.m., ages 6–8 years at 6 p.m., ages 9–16 years at 7 p.m., and ages 17+ at 8 p.m. For two weeks on these evenings, the soccer field is used for the Soccer Camp program for boys and girls ages 3–17+. The program includes nightly devotions, and volunteers are needed to coach, serve on the hospitality team, lead the nightly devotions and pray for the ministry.
The children learn the joy of sports while meeting new friends from the neighborhood and building strong team skills. Most importantly, players are introduced to Jesus in this fun and active setting. Soccer will be canceled in the event of severe storm with thunder and lightning, a tornado warning, or severe heat with a heat index over 105° Fahrenheit. If soccer is canceled, parents are alerted via text and email no later than 4 p.m. on program days, and cancellations are also posted on the Redeemer Covenant Church website at redeemercov.org.
The program is part of the ministry of Redeemer Covenant Church, whose vision is to be a joyful Christ-centered, diverse community united by God’s redeeming love, growing together and going together. Its mission is to join God’s work by reaching, discipling and equipping people to courageously and authentically live out God’s Word in Brooklyn Park and beyond. The church leadership team includes Rev. Dan Thompson, Senior Pastor, along with staff and lay leaders such as Krista Riedel, Rob Anderson, Bob Rau, Traci Petersen, Paul Adejuyigbe, Karen Attia, Ashley Bearl, Francais Kollie-Ross, Rex Stromquist, Pat Trautman, Tim Anderson, Linda Bearl, Lansana Hindolo, Joan Negley and Doug Vigoren.
