Somerby Golf Club Junior Academies offers golf experiences that include time on the golf course, use of a simulator, and junior academies that focus on golf skills. The program also offers club fittings, virtual lessons, individual lessons, and group clinics that use golf technology and instruction.
Constructed in 2004 by golf course architects John Fought and Tom Lehman, Somerby features an 18-hole Championship golf course. The practice area includes a large warm-up teeing area grassed in bentgrass that matches the characteristics of the course tees, a smaller teeing area with a bunkered practice green for short game work, and a one-acre, 18-hole putting course. The putting course was the first of its kind among private courses in the Midwest and remains the largest putting green in the state of Minnesota. Somerby is one of the top-rated golf courses in the state of Minnesota and is a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The club’s stated mission is providing its members, families, and guests the highest standards of service in golf, recreation, social, and business lifestyle.
