About
The East Grand Forks Parks & Recreation Playground Program includes swimming at Sherlock Pool, playground time and games at Sherlock Park, and crafts, reading, and watching a movie at the Campbell Library. The program also includes Friday field trips in addition to the regular weekly activities. The program begins each day at the Campbell Library before moving to activities at Sherlock Pool and Sherlock Park.
• Ages: 6–10 years old
• Schedule: Tuesday, June 2nd – Thursday, July 23rd, Mondays through Thursdays from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
• Price: $110.00 for City of EGF residents; $160.00 for participants living outside of EGF City Limits, attending school in EGF and living within Polk County; $220.00 for participants living outside of EGF and Polk County; additional costs for Friday field trips and an optional $25 Playground Pool Pass
The program is open to children ages 6–10 as of April 30th, 2026, and enrollment is limited to 100 participants. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, and playground registration takes place in phases to ensure East Grand Forks residents have priority. Fridays are reserved for field trips, most field trips include an additional fee, and field trip times may vary based on location. A Playground Pool Pass allows Playground Program participants to use the Sherlock Park Pool during Playground hours only, and these passes can be purchased during online registration for $25. Registrations completed from April 29th through May 13th will include a $50.00 late fee per registration item, and the last day to complete registration for the 2026 Playground Program is Wednesday, May 13th. Participants living within Polk County but outside of the city limits must complete the Non-resident Participation Form. Participants are asked to bring a well-labeled water bottle with no sharing, along with a towel and any pool gear marked with their name.
The program leadership team includes Parks & Recreation Superintendent Jeremy King, Recreation Supervisor John Wuitschick, and Parks & Recreation Specialist Brenna Mathiason.
