Edina Girls Athletic Association Programs offer volleyball, girls flag football, golf, a run team, and a run club. Volleyball season begins March 9.

The Edina Girls Athletic Association began forming in January 1974 and was incorporated in January 1975. Its mission states that participation in sports teaches girls commitment, respect for others, and sportsmanship, and that physical activity and competition enhance mental, psychological, and spiritual health. The mission also states that the core programs of Flag Football, Volleyball, and Run Team are designed to promote skill building, friendships, and a lifelong love of staying active.
The organization is a non-profit driven by 15 volunteer Board members and supported by parents, siblings, and family friends who volunteer as coaches. Each year, 3–5 senior high school girls are recognized and awarded academic scholarships, and recent news notes five senior scholarships awarded. The leadership team includes Jane Eilertson, Junior Board Director; Megan Sweeney, Co-President; and Lynnae Gudmundson, Co-President.
Program features include a fun, low-pressure volleyball league where girls can play with friends and no experience is needed, and a girls flag football program that has been added as an official intramural sport at Edina High School starting Spring 2026. The “See Her Play Golf!” program is offered for middle and high school girls looking to learn golf in a fun, supportive setting. There is a Junior Board opportunity for rising sophomores with a two-year commitment, with responsibilities that include 1–2 volunteer hours per month, managing social media accounts, and promoting the Edina Girls Athletic Association. A Learning Board opportunity is also provided to high school juniors and seniors.
