Deep Portage Summer Camps

Deep Portage Summer Camps are overnight camps where campers take part in activities such as fishing, hunting, canoeing, firearms safety, shooting skills, science, conservation, outdoor recreation, birding, hiking, skiing, and cross-country skiing. All camps offered are overnight style, and campers learn a lot, have fun, make new friends, and grow in their appreciation for the Minnesota great outdoors. Eleven miles of trails are open year-round for birding, hiking, and skiing as part of the camp experience.

• Schedule: Deep Portage Learning Center is open daily from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

For nearly fifty years, Deep Portage Learning Center has provided outdoor experiences. Its mission is: “Through the exploration of woods, water, and wildlife, Deep Portage prepares and inspires learners of all ages to sustain and celebrate our natural world.” Deep Portage Learning Center is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Deep Portage serves groups, organizations, area residents, and visitors with interpretive programs, tours, and events.

Deep Portage Learning Center is a nonprofit overnight environmental education center. Camp scholarships are available, and scholarship recipients must verify their scholarship award upon online registration by providing contact information from the individual that awarded them the scholarship. Deep Portage will work with sponsors to double check scholarships weekly, and any incorrect scholarships will be revoked and returned to the sponsor, and the $100 camp deposit will not be reimbursed.
