About

Woodloch Summer Day Camp offers a comprehensive week-long, five-day camp where campers take part in Western riding, hunt seat riding, bareback riding, trick riding, structured riding lessons, and supervised practice rides. Each student is responsible for a horse throughout the week and takes part in hands-on participation in horse care, demonstrations, and group discussions about feeding, cleaning, veterinary care, farrier care, horse breeds, and riding disciplines. The camp also includes trail rides, a cookout, and a mini-show on Friday afternoons where campers show what they have learned.

• Ages: 7–16 years old
• Schedule: Five-day, week-long day camps, with all camp sessions running from 9:00am to 3:00pm
• Price: A $200 non-refundable and/or non-transferable deposit is due with registration.

Day camps are available for riders of all levels and abilities, and students are grouped by similar ages and abilities. Five-day camps are suitable for young and beginner riders ages 7–16, and advanced five-day camps are offered for qualified riders. Advanced campers must be currently enrolled in lessons at Woodloch for at least 4–6 months and have previous approval from a Woodloch instructor, and a minimum of 8 campers is needed per session. If a session is canceled due to lack of participants, registered campers can transfer their registration to a different week. ASTM/SEI-approved equestrian helmets are highly recommended for all mounted activities, bicycle, skateboard, and motorcycle helmets are not suitable and are not allowed in riding lessons, and Woodloch Stable cannot provide helmets to riders for liability reasons. Troxel helmets are available for sale in the lesson office in a variety of sizes, colors, and styles, and helmets can be ordered by filling out an order form. The stated mission of Woodloch Summer Day Camp is to nurture and inspire communication between horse and rider, to promote safety and fun in all forms of horsemanship, and to help riders enjoy their journey with their equine partner on whatever path they choose.
