Chisago Lakes Community Education Youth Programs

Chisago Lakes Community Education Youth Programs offers clubs, activities, enrichment classes, after school care, athletic camps with Chisago Lakes coaches, and other community experiences. The program also offers teen driver’s education in cooperation with Right Away Driving School. After school classes are aimed to inspire and spark creativity, and safe and welcoming spaces are created to help facilitate fun and learning for preK–12th grade. Programs for grades K–12 are offered to make it a full summer at Chisago Lakes Community Education.

Chisago Lakes Community Education offers lifelong learning opportunities for the Chisago Lakes Schools community, with early childhood families through adults invited to participate in classes, camps, activities, and programs. It is described as the place where the Chisago Lakes School District intersects with the broader community, with a role as a gateway and a connector that brings people together. Participants must be the correct age and/or grade by the first date of the course. Course withdrawals must be made at least 72 hours before the course start date for a refund, and a $5 cancellation fee applies for course withdrawals. Photographs and videos are taken to use in marketing materials, and individuals may notify in writing if they do not wish to have photos or videos in publications. The mission of Community Education is to identify lifelong learning needs of the communities through community-wide involvement, making resources available and providing opportunities to share talents and resources, with the stated goal of improving the quality of life within the communities. The leadership team includes Christine Melbostad, Program Coordinator, and Dan McGonigle, Director.
