About

The Boys & Girls Club of the Minneapolis American Indian Center provides American Indian youth with culturally relevant opportunities that support their holistic development and personal empowerment. The program is designed to help kids reach their full potential and pursue their dreams as part of the broader offerings of the Minneapolis American Indian Center.

The Minneapolis American Indian Center provides educational, health, employment, cultural, art, and social services to the Twin Cities urban Native community and is a community hub that celebrates and uplifts Native culture and is open to all. More than 28,000 people participate in Minneapolis American Indian Center programs each year, and many people visit for events, art, and to dine at Gatherings Cafe. Family Services offers culturally specific programs to support Native women, mothers, and families, and the Culture Language Arts Network (CLAN) offers free Dakota and Ojibwe language classes along with community events and powwows. The Workforce Innovation Opportunities Act (WIOA) program offers employment and job training programs for Native Americans living in Minnesota, while Native Fitness and Nutrition (FAN) offers free fitness programs and nutrition education. The Native Elders Support Team offers community and enriching activities for Elders. The Gatherings Cafe serves breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday with meals made using Indigenous ingredients and knowledge. The Woodland Indian Craft Shop offers handmade gifts created by local artists and has been a staple of the Minneapolis American Indian Center for more than four decades. The Two Rivers Gallery provides a space for local emerging Native artists to exhibit work, nurture creativity, and receive professional development. The Minneapolis American Indian Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
