Soccer Fun-Da-Mentals offers weekly classes that use soccer-themed games along with mobility and agility training. Each class is led by 1 or 2 skilled trainers per pod and takes place in a state-of-the-art indoor facility with two spacious climate-controlled training fields, a comfortable sitting lounge called The Park Lounge, and a full-service Fuel Bar called The Corner Kick serving smoothies and café beverages.
• Ages: 2–18 years old
• Schedule: Each weekly class is 45 minutes long, with five 8-week sessions offered throughout the year
• Price: Single Session: Ages 2–7 $285 per 8 week session (2 monthly payments of $143); Ages 8-up $320 per 8 week session (2 monthly payments of $160). Champions Package (3 eight-week series): Ages 2–7 $770 / $129 per month (6 monthly payments of $129); Ages 8-up $864 / $144 per month (6 monthly payments of $144). All-Star Package (5 eight-week sessions): Ages 2–7 $1211 / $122 per month (10 monthly payments of $122); Ages 8-up $1360 / $136 per month (10 monthly payments of $136). Single Class: $45 one time cost.
Soccer Fun-Da-Mentals was founded by former professional soccer player Oluseyi (Seyi) Famodu and former University of Minnesota Division 1 soccer alum Omonike (Nike) Thomason. The leadership team includes Oluseyi Famodu as Director and Omonike Thomason as Head Trainer, and staff are described as highly trained professionals who are parents themselves. The program has been in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area since early 2021 and serves the Twin Cities South Metro communities of Belle Plain, Jordan, Chaska, Chanhassen, Eden Prairie, Shakopee, Savage, Bloomington, Burnsville, and Prior Lake. The mission of Soccer Fun-Da-Mentals is to make sure each and every child leaves class with a smile on their face.
The program is described as designed for kids by parents and offers small group training with personalized instruction. It provides single session, Champions Package, All-Star Package, and single class options, with special packages that include discounts for enrolling in 3 or more sessions in a calendar year. Certain packages include vouchers for Fuel Bar visits, discounts on custom FDM swag and birthday party packages, an FDM logo soccer ball, and a personalized FDM jersey with name and number for the All-Star Package. Financial assistance may be available for those in need.
Soccer Fun-Da-Mentals follows COVID-19 best practices including following updated CDC guidelines and frequent sanitizing of equipment and stations. Reduced contact measures include hand sanitizer, special air filtration, and generous indoor space for social distancing. Each cleaning contractor has been professionally certified.
