Purple Door Youth Theater is described as an immersive educational theater experience where elementary, middle, and high school students are involved with every aspect of producing a show, including performing, building, running, and ushering. In these productions, actors are described as vital in telling the story onstage and may also be involved offstage, while dedicated technicians focus on technical aspects such as scenery, props, and backstage assistance during performances. Young People’s Theater Workshop offers two multi-week summer camps where students work in groups to write, produce, and perform an original play, with themes chosen each summer for youth to use as inspiration and each age group working closely with a director and choreographer. The Education Program also offers two dedicated annual courses in the performing arts in addition to other arts and theater classes, and the Northfield Arts Guild presents four productions annually, including comedy, drama, musicals, and experimental work.
