The Oakdale Athletic Association (OAA) is an independent, nonprofit youth organization that has been administered and managed by volunteer adults since 1971. A board of directors selected by the general membership runs the association and serves as a policy-making body responsible for the administration of its youth sports programs. The board relies on participation from hundreds of coaches and parents who volunteer many hours of their time. All residents of Oakdale are eligible to be members of OAA, and anyone in the community is welcome to attend a meeting to listen or get involved. The association is home to 2,000 youth athletes. Field closings text notification is available, with options to be notified by text or email, and field status is updated no later than 4:00pm. The association follows a lightning rule that requires stopping practice or games and seeking shelter if lightning is present, and waiting until lightning has not been seen for a minimum of 30 minutes. Its website is powered by SportsEngine's Sports Relationship Management (SRM) software and is owned by and subject to the Oakdale Athletic Association, Oakdale Minnesota privacy policy.

The leadership team includes James Fjorden as President and K-2 Basketball Director, Mark Giannini as Fields Director, Bart Murphy as Gaming Manager, Greg Bearth as Assistant Gaming Manager, Kayla Danley as Secretary, Tara Parent as Vice President, Matt Kurz as Treasurer Public Relations, Amoreena Burton overseeing Infrastructure Security and Public Relations/Communications Website, and Chris Hesse as Webmaster.
