KMC Dance Studios

KMC Dance Studios offers Lil Sparx Hip Hop Classes, Creative Movement, Tiny Tot Classes, Jam Stars Classes, Broadway Kids, Mini Dolls, Super Stars, Hip Hop Classes, Lyrical Classes, and Contemporary Classes. The classes include beginner hip hop, imaginative play and music, ballet and tap technique, tap, jazz and ballet, jazz, tap, and ballet, and lyrical routines based on the interpretation of lyrics and story. Some classes include recital costumes, and some have one mandatory competition or no performance requirements.

Programs

• Lil Sparx Hip Hop Classes — 3-6 years old · Fridays 4:00-4:30pm · $66 per month · Beginner hip hop; no prior experience necessary. Fee includes recital costume. Registration fee: $35.
• Creative Movement — toddlers · $36 per month · Introduces toddlers to movement through imaginative play and music. There are no performance requirements for this class. Registration fee: $35.
• Tiny Tot Classes — 3-4 years old · Thursdays 4:15-5:00pm · $81 per month · 45 minute combination class introducing ballet and tap technique. Your dancer must be age 4 by May 1st to register for the preschool class. Fee includes recital costume. Registration fee: $35.
• Jam Stars Classes — going into Kindergarten and 1st grade · Thursdays 5:00-5:45pm · $81 per month · 45 minute combination class introducing ballet and tap technique. Fee includes recital costume. Registration fee: $35.
• Broadway Kids — 6-7 · Thursdays 5:45-7:00pm · $91 per month · Beginner level class with tap, jazz and ballet; participants do two dance numbers in the year end recital. Fee includes recital costumes. Registration fee: $35.
• Mini Dolls — 7-10 years old · Thursdays 7:00-8:15pm · $91 per month
• Super Stars — 10 and up · $90 per month · Open to beginner dancers. Dancers learn jazz, tap and ballet. One mandatory competition. This group will perform two dances in the mandatory recital. Registration fee: $35.
• Hip Hop Classes — over the age of 6 · Fridays 4:30-5:15pm; Fridays 7:15-8:00pm; Fridays 8:45-9:30pm; Tuesdays 7:15-8:00pm · $91 per month · Classes are held according to age. Fee includes recital costume and one mandatory competition fee. Registration fee: $35.
• Lyrical Classes — all show unit classes · $96 per month · Open to all show unit classes. A lyrical routine is based on the interpretation of the lyrics and tells a story with the dance. Registration fee: $40 + $75 Commitment Fee.
• Contemporary Classes — show unit members who are also enrolled in a lyrical class · Open to show unit members who are also enrolled in a lyrical class. This is for committed dancers with advanced skills who would like to compete and perform more often.

• Price range: $36–$96 per month
• General schedule: Classes are held year-round. The school year schedule follows a September start (after Labor Day) and has a mid-May ending. Robbinsdale classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Shorewood classes are held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Arlington has all of their classes on Wednesday nights.

KMC Dance Studios says it has been in the business of training dancers for over 65 years. Its mission is to teach, encourage, and inspire students to become strong, confident dancers. The studio also says it values hard work, community involvement, ethical behavior, and fun.

Registration is held in August before the dance season starts. Registration for the 2025-2026 season is closed. Students can begin dance as early as age 3 and there are classes for older students who did not take classes when they were younger. No performance requirements for Creative Movement.
