About
Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Youth Programs include summer camps, community events, sports, fitness classes, music events, swimming lessons, and movies in the parks. The program offers youth and adult sports leagues, adaptive sports, open gym, and coaching and officiating opportunities. It also includes birdwatching, interpretive tours, community science surveys, environmental education, small group programs, and volunteer opportunities such as citywide cleanup events.
• Price: The swimming beach and splash pads are free. Indoor or outdoor aquatics facilities may be used for a daily fee, or with an all-access membership.
Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Youth Programs include adult and youth swimming lessons, free summer swimming lessons for children and teens, water aerobics, water walking, open swim, sailing, rowing, and paddling classes, boat rides, and watercraft rentals. The broader system includes over 180 parks and green spaces and 120 miles of trails, three public pools, a City beach, the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, two outdoor aquatic facilities (seasonal), one indoor aquatic facility (year-round), a public swimming beach, and three splash pads. Downtown parks in this system host live music, art, food trucks, festivals, and other events, and there are entry level positions for ages 15 and up with Saint Paul Parks and Recreation. Saint Paul Parks Conservancy works with many community organizations and secures private financial support for parks-related projects, and its programs allow residents to support specific parks, trails, or programs. Saint Paul Parks and Recreation also offers environmental volunteer opportunities and citywide cleanup events, and Sprockets launches a youth program map to find organizations working with young people in grades K–12 across Saint Paul.
