About

Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Youth Programs include summer camps, community events, sports, fitness classes, music events, movies in the parks, and open gym. The program offers adult and youth swimming lessons, including free summer swimming lessons for children and teens, as well as water aerobics, water walking, open swim, sailing, rowing, and paddling classes, boat rides, and watercraft rentals. Youth and adult sports leagues, adaptive sports, coaching and officiating opportunities, birdwatching, interpretive tours, community science surveys, environmental education, small group programs, volunteer opportunities, and citywide cleanup events are also part of the program.

• Price: The swimming beach and splash pads are free. Indoor or outdoor aquatics facilities may be used for a daily fee, or with an all-access membership.

Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Youth Programs follow the mission, “We care for Saint Paul's world-class green spaces and offer recreation opportunities for people of all ages.” The programs are connected with the Saint Paul Parks Conservancy, which secures private financial support for parks-related projects and offers ways for residents to support specific parks, trails, or programs. Through Sprockets, families can use a youth program map to find organizations working with young people in grades K–12 across Saint Paul, and citywide cleanup volunteer events invite neighbors to take part in community cleanup efforts. Families are also invited to the Harriet Island Wigington Pavilion to learn about a wide variety of summer program options offered by organizations across Saint Paul.
