Aleph Preschool Summer Camp

Aleph Preschool Summer Camp includes weekly themed curriculum, outdoor water play, and both in-house and venture-out field trips such as Kenwood Gymnastics. Campers in Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindercamp are bussed to a local pool for professional instructor-taught swimming lessons, with 30 minutes in swimming class and Red Cross certified lifeguards in the pools at all times while Aleph School staff are stationed around the pool perimeter. All Aleph School campers come together once each session for an all-school BBQ that includes a picnic on the playground, weather permitting, and free-play.

• Schedule: Summer camp is divided into three sessions (Session Echad in June, Session Sheini in July, and Session Shlishi in August), and children can register for individual sessions or the entire summer
• Price: The cost of the field trips is included in camp tuition

For toddlers, the daily schedule includes Breakfast and free play from 7:30–8:30 a.m., free play in the classroom from 8:30–9:05 a.m., morning drop-off from 8:30–9:00 a.m., classroom activities from 9:05 a.m.–12:45 p.m., midday pick-up from 12:45–1:00 p.m., nap from 12:45–2:45 p.m. with an awake room available starting at 1:30 p.m., afternoon classroom activities from 2:45–3:30 p.m., afternoon pick-up from 3:15–3:30 p.m., and Yom Shalaim classroom activities from 3:30–5:00 p.m. (until 4:00 p.m. on Friday) with end-of-day pick-up from 4:45–5:00 p.m. (3:45–4:00 p.m. on Friday). Young Toddlers have a weekly themed curriculum, outdoor water play, and on-site field trips with a 1:5 teacher-to-child ratio, and Older Toddlers have a weekly themed curriculum, outdoor water play, and on-site field trips with a 1:7 teacher-to-child ratio.

For Preschool campers, the day includes Breakfast and free play from 7:30–8:30 a.m., free play in the gym from 8:30–9:05 a.m., morning drop-off from 8:30–9:00 a.m., classroom activities from 9:05 a.m.–12:45 p.m., midday pick-up from 12:45–1:00 p.m., rest from 1:00–1:30 p.m. with a nap option until 2:30 p.m., Afternoon Programming from 1:30–3:30 p.m., afternoon pick-up from 3:15–3:30 p.m., and Yom Shalaim classroom activities from 3:30–5:00 p.m. (until 4:00 p.m. on Friday) with end-of-day pick-up from 4:45–5:00 p.m. (3:45–4:00 p.m. on Friday). For Pre-K campers, the schedule includes Breakfast and free play from 7:30–8:30 a.m., free play in the gym from 8:30–9:05 a.m., morning drop-off from 8:30–9:00 a.m., classroom activities from 9:05 a.m.–12:45 p.m., midday pick-up from 12:45–1:00 p.m., rest from 1:00–1:30 p.m., Afternoon Enrichment on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and Afternoon Programming on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:30–3:30 p.m., afternoon pick-up from 3:15–3:30 p.m., and Yom Shalaim classroom activities from 3:30–5:00 p.m. (until 4:00 p.m. on Friday) with end-of-day pick-up from 4:45–5:00 p.m. (3:45–4:00 p.m. on Friday). Pre-K camp includes a community garden and nature walks, a weekly swimming lesson, weekly themed curriculum, outdoor water play, and frequent off-site field trips, with a 1:7 teacher-to-child ratio.

Aleph Preschool Summer Camp’s Young Toddlers, Older Toddlers, Preschool, and Pre-K groups all follow a weekly themed curriculum and include outdoor water play. Aleph School offers in-house field trips for all campers and venture-out field trips, including Kenwood Gymnastics, for Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindercamp children, and the cost of these field trips is included in camp tuition. Office hours for the program are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

The camp is part of Beth El Synagogue, whose mission states that Beth El is a home where Judaism is lived, community is family, learning inspires action, prayer touches the heart, and deeds repair the world, and that Beth El Synagogue is an inclusive faith-based community founded on Conservative Jewish laws and values where all are welcome and invited to participate. Beth El Synagogue is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. The leadership team includes Director Sara Confeld and Assistant Director Jane Andersen-Flam, and the affiliated clergy are Rabbi Alexander Davis, Rabbi Matt Goldberg, and Rabbi Julie Schwarzwald.
