Youth Camps at The Bakken Museum take place in a setting that includes interactive exhibits for all ages and exceptional STEM education programs. The program is part of a museum that also offers popular field trips, workshops, and opportunities for students in grades 3–12, along with access to the historic West Winds Mansion.

The Bakken Museum is celebrating 50 years and describes its mission as sparking innovation at the intersection of science, technology, and the humanities to better the world around it. Its community involvement includes Youth Camps and school partnerships that bring STEM to students in Minnesota. As part of its 50th birthday celebration, the museum is recognizing 50 contemporary changemakers who are shaping the future and has created a special series of LEGO minifigures modeled after these honorees. Visitors have described the museum as having interesting and interactive exhibits in a beautiful space, a hidden gem in South Minneapolis, and a place where they enjoyed the exhibits, mansion, gardens, and views of Bde Maka Ska.
