About

Camp Galileo includes hands-on STEAM projects, collaborative activities, outdoor play, and building projects. Campers take part in songs, crafts, lanyards, outdoor games, face painting, pie throwing, and Water Day stations. Older participants can join leadership development activities such as leading skits, planning flash mobs, crafting flair, engineering launchers and golf-courses, and putting on mini Olympics, and can participate in the Counselors in Training (CIT) program where CITs are leaders at camp and own projects within a camp aspect of their choosing.

Every hands-on project and outdoor game K–10th graders take on at Camp Galileo is described by the program as a total blast and an opportunity to build creative problem solving and collaboration skills. The program includes a nut-free snack break and offers optional AM Care from 8–9am and optional PM Care from 3–6pm.

For over 20 years, Galileo has delivered hands-on STEAM projects, outdoor play and summer activities to hundreds of thousands of campers. Galileo operates award-winning summer camps and expanded learning programs, serving over 90 communities and more than 570,000 young innovators, and has provided over 49,000 scholarships.

Parents describe Camp Galileo as a joyful environment with counselors, projects, games and activities that their children look forward to each summer. One 2024 Laguna Niguel parent reports that their kids come home thinking more independently and deeply than before. A 2024 Palmdale Galileo X parent notes that their daughter had a lot of fun building things and making new friends in an exciting educational experience with a lot of engagement and learning. A 2024 Manhattan Beach parent shares that their kids loved all the building projects, are still singing songs from camp, and that their family plans to return next summer for longer.
