Kinderberry Hill has been providing high quality childcare in the Twin Cities since 1990 and has been the Twin Cities’ premier early childhood education experts for over 30 years. The program offers innovative early childhood education and childcare through the Reggio Emilia approach, viewing children as capable, creative learners, and is dedicated to helping families through every stage of their child’s early childhood education while embracing and demonstrating exceptional child care and education by providing state-of-the-art practices in teaching, learning, health, nutrition, and developmental services. Each Kinderberry Hill Early Childhood Development Center has been awarded accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and a 4-star highest rating from Parent Aware, Minnesota’s Quality Rating System, and the St. Paul Grand Avenue location lists additional awards and accolades including Star Tribune Top Workplace, Sun Readers' Choice Awards, and Eco-Healthy Child Care. The program features small group sizes, chef-prepared nutritious meals cooked on-site by a school chef trained in USDA guidelines and food safety, an on-site school nurse at each school, daily communication with families via a family communication app, and biannual assessments using Teaching Strategies Gold and executive-function assessments for pre-kindergarteners. The STEAM Wonder Lab integrates science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, and the Spanish Wonder Lab blends play with learning and cultural exploration.
Lanai Koep serves as Executive Program Director and holds a B.S. in early childhood studies from Rasmussen. Kinderberry Hill offers opportunities to come together as a classroom and as a school community throughout the year for gatherings, celebrations, parent-teacher conferences, and family education. Meals are cooked onsite by the school chef following USDA guidelines, food safety, and allergy restrictions for children diagnosed with food allergies, and breast milk is allowed in infant classrooms, with mothers encouraged to nurse at the schools whenever that is an option. Families are required to sign children in and out. One parent shared, “Immediately, when I walked in to St. Paul Kinderberry—I knew it was the right place—the look, the feel, and the support to us as parents,” and another parent said, “We are so happy with our school and considered it an invaluable investment in our kids’ futures. We highly recommend Kinderberry Hill!” A child described the Spanish experience by saying, “I like to learn Spanish. We count and sing songs with Spanish Mayra.”
