Junior Golf Camp is offered four different weeks of the summer from early June through mid July, and Kidz Club is a two-hour program on Tuesday nights from 5:30–7:30 that runs for 5 weeks, with four sessions offered from early June through the middle of September. The Scramble league for junior golfers (ages 7–13) starts in January and runs through March, and a Competitive Winter League starts in November and runs throughout the winter. At Prestwick there are three sessions of PGA Jr. League over the course of the season: spring, summer and fall, and the $20 Junior League rate is available on select Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings and every day after 5:00 for juniors who purchase a Junior Season pass. It is not a requirement for a child to have clubs to participate in the junior golf camp or Kidz Club because Prestwick has clubs they can use, while PGA Jr. League requires that a child has their own bag and clubs.

The junior instruction is led by Director of Instruction and Junior Golf expert John Potter, who joined Prestwick in 2016 as an intern from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Golf Enterprise Management. John Potter has played many years of competitive golf at the highest levels, has Ping Academy Certifications, and is involved with Titleist Performance Institute. The leadership team connected to the junior golf programs includes Tom Wahl, PGA Head Golf Professional; Jack Ganzer, First Assistant Golf Professional; John Potter, Director of Instruction; and Kelly Markley, Tournament Director, with Director of Instruction John Potter and Assistant Golf Professional Jack Ganzer in charge of the junior golf programs.

Prestwick’s PGA Jr. League Program has been nationally recognized by the PGA of America as one of the best in the country for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, and Prestwick has been nationally recognized for this program two consecutive years by the PGA of America. Prestwick Golf Club was named Golf Course of the Year by MWGCOA, is rated Four and Half Stars and “Best Place to Play” by Golf Digest, and is ranked a Top 3 public course experience in Minnesota by the StarTribune. The programs involve over 400 junior golfers in a league or instructional program annually, and the state-of-the-art simulator allows juniors to play world class golf courses such as Augusta CC, Bay Hill, Pine Valley, Cypress Point, and Pinehurst No. 2. The mission at Prestwick Golf Club is to provide a diverse, daily fee customer with a world-class, though highly accessible, experience at an impeccably maintained facility from the time they step foot in the shop until the time they hole out on 18.
