About
Great Green Adventures explores plants, nature, and green living through hands-on activities, stories, and games. Children take part in activities such as getting an up-close look at what is living in soil, creating a symphony with the sounds of nature, retreating to the Family Tree Area to read a book, taking part in hands-on activities in the maker space, and exploring the garden with a Garden on the Go Pack. Pre-registration is recommended for Great Green Adventures.
• Ages: 6–12 years old
• Schedule: The Doris I. Schnuck Children’s Garden is open April–October, Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with late hours 5–7 p.m. on Thursday evenings through September 26; the Brookings Exploration Center is open Tuesday through Sunday, year round, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is closed Christmas Day.
• Price: Free admission for children ages 12 and under; $16.00 general admission for ages 13 and up; free admission for members of all ages; $6.00 STL Resident Rate; $4.00 for seniors 65 and older, with proof of residency required.
