Grandstreet Theatre School is part of Grandstreet Theatre, which produces eight mainstage productions annually. The theatre is home to a nationally recognized theatrical education program that welcomes over 350 students each year.

For almost 50 years, Grandstreet Theatre has provided Montana’s capital region with ways to experience and participate in locally grown, sustainable, world class theatre. Its stated mission is to brighten Helena, Montana, and elevate the human spirit through live theatre and theatre education. Grandstreet Theatre describes itself as Montana’s Premiere Community Theatre and as a community-powered theatrical organization that serves as a home for Helena’s artistic community.

Grandstreet Theatre lists a leadership and education team that includes Danielle Wineman as Managing Director, Jeff Downing as Artistic Director, and Marianne Adams as Director of Education. Additional staff include Paige O’Neill as Technical Director, Errol Koch as Lighting and Sound Manager, Dillon Key as Finance Manager, and Syd Mammano as Box Office Manager, along with Theatre School Faculty members Retta Leaphart and Julia Harris. Staff credentials include advanced degrees such as an MFA in Directing, multiple BFAs in theatre-related fields, and other bachelor’s degrees.

Grandstreet Theatre notes that it is home to a nationally recognized theatrical education program and that Marianne Adams was the 2015 Runner-up for the Excellence in Theatre Education Award presented by The Broadway League and Carnegie Mellon University at The Tony Awards, as well as a 2018 Freddie G. Fellowship award recipient. The theatre also lists special performance options, including an ASL interpreted performance of Mary Poppins on July 26th at 7:30 and a “Choose Your Own Price” performance of Mary Poppins on July 16th at 7:30 pm.
