The National Team Identification Series is described as the most comprehensive player identification program offered by USA Baseball and uses a six-region system for the initial player identification process. The NTIS Champions Cup includes skill testing and on-field evaluations run by the USA Baseball Task Force and national team coaches. The Southwest Region won the 2025 NTIS Champions Cup for the sixth consecutive summer, and the 72 selected athletes from the 2025 NTIS represent 27 states and all six regions from across the U.S., with California represented by 16 athletes, Florida by 10 athletes, and Texas by nine players.
